Hello All
Well, it's officially summer here in New England. For those of you on the east coast, when it gets back up to 95 and 99% humidity, just remember how you felt in February... maybe that'll help.
I'm back from Kerrville, TX -- I was competing in their New Folk Emerging Songwriter Competition, and while I wasn't one of the top 6 winners, being one of the finalists among 800 applicants was a real honor, and it was a fantastic experience... if you like folk music (and if you like camping), Kerrville is a must!

“Singer-songwriters, especially with the veritable flock of them hovering around the Greater Boston area and the Northeast, don't usually get recognized all that quickly. Fan bases develop slowly. Respectability takes time.
Don't tell that to Laura Bullock, though. And don't ask the people who line up at Club Passim to see her, or anyone who has had a listen of her debut Points North. If they're any sort of barometer, respectability comes remarkably quickly.
